Network Equipment Sharing
Here, I'd like to share the network equipment I use at home:
I had actually shared this on my blog before, but some of the equipment has since been updated: https://blog.zeruns.com/archives/732.html
My network cabinet is placed in a corner of the living room. Every network outlet in the house is connected with a Category 6a cable along with a single-mode dual-fiber optic cable to this low-voltage box (at the TV area, there are two cables: one for the TV and one for the IPTV box). The fiber is not in use at the moment, but it might come in handy in the future when upgrading to full 10-gigabit connectivity.
Outside the cabinet, there is a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for the network equipment and surveillance, model VISENCH (Weishen) BR1500CH. Purchase link: https://u.jd.com/G6Wr0V7
The devices in the cabinet from top to bottom are as follows:
- Power strip: Demu PDU Cabinet Power Strip
- NVR: TP-Link's TL-NVR6108-L8P
- In the second row, on the left: China Telecom's 2.5G fiber optic modem, model TEWA-1108V
- In the second row, in the middle (white): China Mobile’s optical modem, Gigabit H50G
- In the second row, in the middle (black): iKuai's IK-Q6000 wireless router, used for mobile broadband dial-up
- In the second row, on the far right (black): R86S 10G Soft Router
- 8-port SFP+ 10G switch: TL-ST5008F
- 2.5G PoE switch: TL-SE2109P
- 16-port 2.5G + 4-port 10G switch: TL-SE2420
- Server: Mach Revolution iMini Pro820 Mini PC
- NAS: QNAP TS-466C
- UPS: LeiDiSi D1500 (for the NAS)
- At the very bottom is an HP server power supply used for centrally powering 12V devices
The cabling is a bit messy—I haven't bothered to organize it.
There are also 8 iKuai wireless APs, with models including: IK-Q3600, IK-Q6000, IK-W35, IK-X9, and TL-XDR6088 (this TP-Link unit has been flashed with the iKuai firmware)
